First of all, thanks for honoring Vicki with this “In Memory Of” moment. I am sure Vicki would feel so happy that I donated her sewing treasures to such a worthy cause. I was originally looking for a school to donate everything to when I was told most schools don’t have home economic or home making courses like they did when I grew up.
For Vicki, sewing was her only real passion outside of our marriage and maintaining an immaculate home. She used to attend each and every day of the International Quilt Festival with her best friend (Judi Carter), who sadly passed away a few months after Vicki. We were not blessed with children, so I always told Vicki to buy anything she wanted, and she kind of did.
I am a Vietnam Veteran and former State Trooper, but Shelancia made me cry when she called to discuss this Gala Event and honoring Vicki. It has been an honor for me to donate Vicki’s treasures. For those that are believers, Vicki is enjoying the passing-on of her sewing legacy.
A special thanks to Laurelei. She is such a nice lady and it was great getting to know her when we packed up the sewing stuff. I had one last quilt that Vicki was working on that Laurelei promised to finish for me. Guess what. She kept her promise. As such, I think Vicki would want me to join the fund givers today by donating $1,000 on Laurelei’s behalf.
Thank you to everyone at Creativity Shell for your daily efforts and thanks for honoring Vicki. If Mattress Mack is in the crowd, step up to the funding plate!
