Dear Friends, Families, and Creative Collaborators,
Friday, May 30, 2025 is National Day of Creativity, and this year, we’re calling on YOU to help us celebrate it in the most meaningful way possible — by coming together to create, support, and inspire.
The Creativity Shell, a nonprofit organization dedicated to using creative arts education to nurture positive youth mental health, is facing a critical challenge. Recent funding cuts from national sources such as the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) threaten the lifeline of creative programming for children across the country.
But as artists, makers, and dreamers — we know how to turn challenges into possibilities.Instead of giving up, we’re choosing to
fund ourselves through creativity.
We are inviting businesses, families, bars, classrooms, and organizations everywhere to join our nationwide campaign by donating and receiving Creativity Hour Kits. Each kit includes a mystery collection of arts, crafts, and sewing supplies and one simple challenge: Take one hour (or more!) to create something unique and imaginative.
Here's how YOU can be part of this movement:
By participating, you’re not only celebrating creativity — you’re helping to fund critical mental health programs for children through the Creativity Shell’s sewing, art, cooking, pottery, and craft education classes.
Creativity Hour Kits will be shipped or delivered the week of May 24, 2025, just in time for the National Day of Creativity. Each donation supports our programs and reminds children everywhere that creativity still matters — especially now.
Let’s create together. Let’s save creativity together.
We’re Taking Creativity to Classrooms Across the USA!
The Creativity Shell is launching an exciting new initiative — Creativity Shell Pods — to be placed directly into schools across the country! Each pod will be filled with Creativity Hour Kits, giving students access to hands-on, open-ended creative materials that encourage them to think critically, solve problems, and build with purpose.
Why does this matter?
Because creativity is the future of STEM. These kits challenge students to work with unconventional tools and materials to design, innovate, and invent — fostering the next generation of builders, thinkers, and changemakers. By integrating the arts with science, technology, engineering, and math, we’re not just teaching students how to follow instructions — we’re giving them the freedom to create something entirely their own.
Creativity Shell Pods = Accessible, engaging, STEM-powered learning that also supports positive youth mental health.
On Friday, May 30, 2025, join us for National Day of Creativity by donating and participating in the Creativity Hour. Your support will directly help us launch Creativity Shell Pods into schools during the 2025–2026 school year, bringing this transformative program to students who need it most.
Let’s build a future where every child can explore, create, and grow — one box at a time.
Donate today, get your Creativity Hour Kit, and be a part of the movement to put imagination back into education.

What began as a sewing class in a home dining room has grown into a nationwide movement to heal, inspire, and empower children through creativity. Since 2015, the Creativity Shell has taught thousands of students to sew, cook, craft, build, and most importantly—believe in themselves. Our programs have reached libraries, juvenile justice centers, shelters, and schools, using creativity as a tool to support positive youth mental health.
This May 30th, on National Day of Creativity, we invite families, businesses, bars, and collaborators across the country to join our vision: a world where every child has access to the healing power of creativity.
We’re celebrating with the launch of Creativity Hour, a national program that brings curated boxes of creative supplies into classrooms—giving students the freedom to take a break, reset, and create something that’s all their own. These aren’t just craft kits. They’re carefully designed “choice within a choice” boxes, backed by research in creativity, cognition, and development.
By participating in Creativity Hour, you're not just making art—you’re creating impact. Every kit ordered helps us deliver more kits to children in need. Whether you're gathering your family at the kitchen table, inviting your bar patrons to collage over cocktails, or hosting a company-wide creativity break, your participation helps build a future where creativity is accessible to all.
Let’s make this a day to imagine, express, and connect.
