Creativity Shell chosen by the Texas Commission on the Arts to go on a Rural Tour in 2024!
In their continuing efforts to advance the state economically and culturally by investing in a creative Texas, the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) has chosen Kingwood’s Creativity Shell to go on tour in 2024!
The Creativity Shell is a nonprofit organization on a mission to use creative trades to educate and inspire the next generation of makers. Our organization teaches classes such as sewing/textile arts, cooking, building and other creative trades to students in our studios, libraries, schools, ABA therapy centers, the juvenile justice system as well as shelters that rescue children from homelessness and human trafficking. All classes are designed to teach children essential life skills, practical skills and positive mental health coping skills.
The TCA rural tour promotes arts in rural and underserved counties throughout texas. The Creativity Shell will be visiting San Jacinto County, Magnolia, Austin County, Chambers County and possibly Grimes and Washington counties as well.
Schools/libraries in the counties above can use the links below to secure your date for your free workshop. Workshops last for generally 1 hour and the time frame will allow for a maximum of 12 students per hour with a half hour in between class. For example:
11AM - 12PM
12:30AM - 1:30PM
2PM - 3PM
3:30PM - 4:30PM
We would also prefer to be at one location per booking.
